In 1989, Sajjan Jindal founded Jindal Iron and Steel Company (JISCO), which focused on manufacturing cold-rolled and galvanized sheet products. This venture marked the beginning of a period of significant expansion for the Jindal family in the steel sector. In 1995, he promoted Jindal Vijaynagar Steel Limited (JVSL), which eventually became part of JSW Steel.

Under his leadership, JSW Steel introduced several technological innovations that improved productivity and product quality. Jindal’s strategic vision was also evident in his focus on sustainability and his investments in environmentally friendly technologies.

Global Expansion

Sajjan Jindal served as the Chairman of the World Steel Association from 2021 to 2022, highlighting his stature in the global steel industry. He has also been a significant figure in establishing the Indian Steel Association, advocating for the interests of the steel sector in India.

Sajjan Jindal is married to Sangita Jindal, who is active in various philanthropic endeavors and serves as the Chairperson of the JSW Foundation. The couple has three children.
